Carnis graph

A graph that represents the growth of creatures from the Carnis family over time

The Vita Carnis (or simply Carnis) genus (Latin for: Living Meat), is a genus of meat creatures. They have been on Earth since 1931, but had an explosive population increase close to the end of World War II. They have been challenging humanity's place on the food chain since then. They greatly resemble creatures without skin, or as the Living Meat Research Documentary claims "like store bought meat", as such they are mostly made of organs, tissues and bones. They mostly consume organic material, such as other animals (excluding their Carnis relatives). Some Carnis, like the Mimic feed solely on human flesh for their diets.

All Vita Carnis species originate from Earth and have been proven to not be any form of alien or supernatural being. (This excludes The Singularity, the only member to have paranormal abilities and an unknown origin.)

It has been noted that the population of the genus increased quickly in short time, it is due of their effective forms of reproduction, for example the Meat Snake undergoing mitosis or Trimmings and Harvesters being formed by Crawl. Their population is very stable as the Crawl produces nodes at an incredibly fast rate and can be found everywhere.

Trivia[]

  • As an answer of a tweet[1] Darian Quilloy, the creator of Vita Carnis, says that none of the creatures from the Carnis family have gender. This may be a result of how species in the Carnis family are born from nodes on the Crawl rather than natural reproduction methods. Even the Meat Snake, the only member to have reproductive capabilities does so through mitosis (duplicating cells and forming a separate organism).
